On July 9, 2008, Governor Schwarzenegger signed into law in California, SB 1137, which, on its face, extends the timeline for foreclosures in California by 30 days.  Some bloggers have bemoaned the the change by noting that the upshot of thew whole thing is that it now takes 30 days longer to complete a foreclosure, but that’s beside the point really.

The amazing thing here is that the NOD can’t even be recorded until 30 days after the lender makers personal or telephone contact with the borrower.
